Ella the cute baby elephant

Writing this bedtime storybook was a great deal of fun as was creating the illustrations. I love watercolour and find it soothing with its texture.

Stories for children should always have some message working away in the background, even if the child doesn’t latch on to it. Subliminally, it’ll work its way through to them.

Elephants are fabulous creatures plus they are family and socially based. I felt this was the perfect animal to choose for this particular story.

Ella certainly has the ‘Aw’ factor, just look at her, sooo cute. This adds to the dramatic impact when she becomes separated from mum on their walk

If I don’t say so myself, this is an enchanting and beautifully illustrated story, children will follow the journey of a baby elephant named Ella as she goes on her first long walk with her mother. However, the walk doesn’t go as planned. She yawns and doesn’t know she’s let go of mummy’s tail! She then realises she’s all alone and very scared.

Bedtime reading book in Rhymes

I decided to tell the story in warm and gentle rhymes, making it the perfect bedtime story for children. With adorable watercolour illustrations, your child will love recognising the different types of animals Ella meets along the way.

As a result of Ella’s journey, children will learn that no matter what the circumstances, mum will always be there, loving and protecting them from near and far. It encourages children to be brave, persevere, and always trust in their mother’s love and protection.
